How to make ewedu soup (Yoruba meals)

1 big bunch Ewedu leaves

2 tablespoons Dawa-dawa (Locust beans)

1/4 teaspoon  (Kauw) potash 

Salt to taste 

2 cubes star magi or 1 billion cube

1 tablespoon ground crayfish 

1 to 2 cups of Water

2 ½ tablespoons ground egusi (Optional)


Procedure 

Pick your ewedu leaves properly, making sure you dont pick the stalk/stem along with it. 

Wash it thoroughly to ride it off dirt. Pour water in a sauce pan, add the ewedu leaves, locust beans, potash and bring on heat to boil by rolling. 

Blend, grind or pound your ewedu with broom if you are using broom.

 

Please, avoid too much water because it will affect the viscosity.

Transfer the edwedu back to your clean pot


Add the ground crayfish, egusi, seasoning cube and salt to taste. 

Cook till done. 


EWEDU STEW (YORUBA)

6 Shombo  pepper 

15 Fresh tomato

½ kilo goat meat 

6 Cow skin

5 pieces Beef

2 tablespoon Crayfish

2 bell Tatashe pepper 

5 pieces Fresh scotch bonnet pepper 

1 dry fish Dried fish

2 cooking spoons Palm oil

1 big Onion bulb 

Salt to taste 

4 cubes seasoning for both assorted meat marinate


Procedure

Wash and ground fresh scotch bonnet pepper, tomatoes, shombo & tatashe together. Pour in a sauce pan and place on heat to dry water out.



Season all the meat, and cook.

Add dry fish and cook till done.

Heat clean pot to hot add palm oil


Allow it to hot, add onions allow it to suet and add fresh tomatoes, as well as the cooked meats and cook. 


Add all the remaining ingredients and cook until done. Taste for seasoning and bring down.

  

Your stew is ready, serve with Amala & Ewedu
